Detox Treatment Options
Those seeking detox and treatment have various options to help them on their way to recovery. However they must first start with California is home to some of the largest recovery communities in the world and offers some of the most highly established treatment facilities.
Detox facilities and natural detox
Recovery must always start with the process of detox which should normally be facilitated through a detox facility. Detox facilities are designated for handling clients who are fresh off of a binge. Most detox facilities are medically assisted and help aid clients through their detox process by administering medications that help to ease the pains of withdrawals. This is very beneficial for clients who are detoxing from substances which can cause physical pain and present health risks during withdrawal. Withdrawals from specifically alcohol and benzodiazepines can be life threatening if not treated properly. Patients normally only attend detox facilities for one to two weeks.
NAD/NTR rapid detox offers different approach that utilizes a naturally occurring coenzyme nicotinamide adenide dinucleotide (NAD) to help rid the body of the harmful byproducts of prolonged drug use and replenish the brain of any deficiencies that have occurred as a result of their substance abuse. By incorporating the use of naturally occurring vitamins, minerals and nutrients to alleviate withdrawal symptoms and other physiological effects caused by substance abuse, patients can experience a smoother transition into sobriety and put full focus on their recovery.
NAD/NTR specifically works to restore neurotransmitter function to help regain cognitive clarity and speeds up healing in the brain so patients can experience what it can be like to be fully functional and bypass the mental fogginess and repressed cognitive ability experience during other detox methods. This approach helps rid the client of some other side effects of the detox process like depression, anxiety and excessive stress. Even better, because NAD/NTR uses only natural vitamins and minerals, it takes out the risk of causing a secondary addiction to potentially addictive medications that are often used during other medical detox methods. Altogether, natural rapid detox offers individuals a faster, more effective and less risky detox period which means more time spent focusing on recovery.
Inpatient Treatment Centers
Inpatient treatment programs are generally where patients would go after completing the detox process. Patients may stay at these facilities usually from a minimum of 30 days to a maximum of 90 days. While staying in a residential treatment center, patients are subject to a specified curfew and will participate in regular drug screenings, attendance at therapy sessions and groups and regular attendance at recovery-based meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous
Outpatient treatment groups offer the same benefits and group structure of residential treatment programs, but allow patients to live outside of the premises. These programs are often referred to as intensive outpatient (IOP) and are normally offered to those who cannot afford to be away from home or work for extended periods of time. They are sometimes used as part of a comprehensive treatment program, which begins with a patient attending an inpatient treatment and progressing into a transitional living or sober living and attending IOP groups.
Transitional living is typically the next step one would take after completing an inpatient treatment program. Transitional living is similar to sober living, but has more restrictions and often requires patients to attend regular IOP groups and often incorporates a phase system that allow clients certain privileges based on their progress and/or behavior. Clients are still subject to regular drug screenings at these facilities just like with inpatient program.
Sober living houses are facilities where sobriety is a requirement for residence and where residents are required to submit periodic drug screenings if requested. These houses provide clients with a safe place to live where they can focus on their recovery and are often encouraged to find jobs or continue work to ease their transition back into daily life. Some patients have the opportunity to attend IOP groups if they wish to while staying at sober livings. They are also generally allowed to reside at these places as long as they wish to stay.
Recovery Support Groups
Recovery support groups serve as priceless resource for those seeking long term sobriety. They do not require any dues or fees to join. Millions have achieved and maintained quality sobriety through recovery programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA). These programs and others like them are 12-step based and provide meetings all across the world. They are derived from the same basis of one alcoholic or addict helping another and provide patients with a healthy and supportive recovery network they can turn to.
Recovery is a way of life and treatment alone is seldom enough to ensure anyone sobriety. The options listed above can be separately or together to allow the addict a slow progression to integrate back into society and work their way towards a life of sobriety.
